In Memory of Umbria

The Circus was happy to have Paipi's best good friend, Umbria, over to the casa for a weekend, while Umbi's parents (Angel and Dave) were at a wedding in Chicago.  Unfortunately, a week after Umbi's visit, she passed away; nevertheless, Paipi and Sachi both showed their love to Umbi, which was very much reciprocated and good times were had.  We hope little Umbi is chasing squirrels and sleeping on top of the covers in doggie-heaven.  Here's photos from her recent visit and a run throughout the years:

What is outside...?

...even more importantly, what is that smell?

Sweet sleeping one piece!

We love you Umbi

And more from back in the day.  Some of these may make Umbria look ferocious, but she was, without a doubt, Paipi's best friend.  They play fought over everything, but as these pictures don't lie, when all was done, they enjoyed each other's company.  We'll miss Umbria (affectionately known as Umbichan), but the time we had with her was fantastic.  Here she is:

Go Tribe!

With her hometown Indians faltering badly down the stretch (we're only 9.5 games out of first in the AL Central!), Sachi decided to throw her prodigious athletic support behind the Tribe in hopes of making a September push for some October baseball.  Unfortunately, due to napping delays and traffic, she didn't make it to be ballpark until the 7th inning.  Regardless, she did get a chance to hit the base paths post-game, flashing some serious speed from 1st to 2nd and on her way to 3rd base.  Needless to say, the scouts took notice.  Afterwards, Sachi got us access to some on-field photo-ops with Indians Management and security.

Check out Sachi's arm ink.  She wanted an elbow web or teardrops, but settled for the forearm Chief Wahoo

And how could we resist the post-game banana photo?

The Art of Eating a Banana - by Sachi Oza

Amid toy rubble and while Paipi looks on from the comforts of his sun and saliva-drenched patio bed, little Sachi decided to put on a summer tutorial on the proper etiquette of banana consumption:

Perhaps a change of clothes will assist in this situation (nope):

Rendezvous in DC

After speaking with him through his assigned agents (Momma and Poppa Womack), Sachi and her trusted lieutenant, Paipi, decided to hit the road and meet International Man of Mystery, Liam Womack, in our nation's capital to discuss international monetary policy, national defense and a host of other pressing matters.  The summit was hosted by none other than Auntie Anjali Dighe and was co-chaired by one, Devin "The Dude" Dighe.  Here are photographs that were permitted by the traveling press corps and a brief synopsis of their policy discussions:

With an initial focus upon the environment, Sachi and Liam headed to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.  Little Liam was nowhere to be found, although a variety of others (stuff and real) were available for discussions:

After returning to The Dude's house, the two principals get acquainted over snacks

What a great four-photo series of infant politics. First up: charming your opponent with your wiles.

Second: making your demands clear (i.e. give me that cracker).

Third:  resorting to theft

Fourth: again with the charm offensive to make everyone feel like a winner.  Notice Liam's expression is the same as the first photo (in a word: puzzled).

Thank god for back up crackers

Fedoras for everyone.  Poppa Wo with his boy.  Poppa Oza with his gal.

Womack family says "cheese."

With the Womacks make the move to DC, the blog may be introducing a more frequent guest star in little Liam Womack, so keep any eye out for additional appearances from this master statesman.
